BvAT team at IED Afrique in Dakar

A monitoring team comprised of Joseph Nyamesegere (Monitoring and Evaluation Officer-BvAT) and Alex Mutungi (the AU led Ecological Organic Agriculture Initiative Continental Secretariat Coordinator) is undertaking a mission in Dakar and Thies, Senegal. The team will receive, document and provide support and guidance on the implementation of the EOA project through BvAT partners in Senegal. The mission is taking place from 3rd to 7th October 2022.
The consortium partners in Senegal include Enda Pronat (Pillar 1-Research Training and Extension), IED Afrique (Pillar 2-Information and Communication, Agrecol (Pillar 3-Value Chains and Market Development) and CNCR (the Country Lead Organization (CLO) and Pillar 4 Coordination and Cementing).

During the mission to the partners, the team ascertained the status of technical and financial project implementation including identification of capacity gaps for strengthening, best practices and other issues that could hamper or accelerate implementation. On Thursday 6th October, the team will hold a data collection training workshop for all monitoring and evaluation officers drawn from all the partners.

While receiving the BvAT team in his office, CNCR Executive Director, Elhaji Thierno Cissé applauded the visit noting that it is a great opportunity for the consortium partners in Senegal to discuss the progress on the implementation of the projects with BvAT. Mr Cisse mentioned that building capacity of partners on data collection and analytical reporting of results is important value addition for the visit.

The team will wind up the visit and returns to Nairobi on Friday 7th October 2022.
