Biovision Africa trust’s EOA Initiative team of Dr. David Amudavi, Alex Mutungi and Venancia Wambua are attending the Launch of the 3rd CAADP BR Critical analysis event.

The Objectives of the launch of the Critical Analysis 

The objective of the meeting is to launch the critical analysis of the 3rd BR process. More specifically, during the 2 half-days, the meeting will aim to:

  1. Build a common understanding of the Critical Analysis, its objectives and the process envisaged.
  2. Review expectations and commitment of BR Task Force Technical Working Group members to continue supporting the BR process.
  3. Provide an opportunity for each Technical Working Group, AUC, AUDA, RECS, NSA’s to discuss issues pertinent to the Critical Analysis including:
    • TWG group composition
    • Initial reflections on challenges with assigned indicators
    • A preliminary analysis of what needs to be done
    • Resources requirements
  4. Discuss any progress on communications and advocacy of the 3rd BR so far.

Expected Outputs

The expected outputs of this meeting will be as follows:

  1. The objectives and process of the Critical analysis understood by all.
  2. All the BR Technical Working Groups (TWGs) properly constituted with clear work plans for the Critical Analysis.
  3. An initial discussion on data and process issues raised by stakeholders.
  4. The critical analysis of the 3rd BR process launched.

Date and Venue 

The meeting will be virtual and is expected to last 2 days (3-4 hours per day), on the 26th and 27th May 2022.

Participants 

The meeting will bring together AUC, AUDA-NEPAD, RECs, AK2063, FAO, IFPRI, AGRA, BR Task Force leaders, Technical Working Group leaders and members, experts and stakeholders. Biovision Africa Trust is part of Ending Hunger Technical Working Group

The launch was officially opened by Godfrey Bahiigwa – Director, AUC-DARBE.
