DESCRIPTION:The Middle East Natural and Organic Products Expo (link is external) Dubai is the only event of its kind specializing in beauty\, health\, food and beverage\, living\, and the environment sectors in the Middle East and Northern Africa. With the support of IFOAM – Organics International\, the expo has served as a platform to launch organic products on the Middle Eastern market for 17 years. \nThe 2019 expo is organized under the patronage of the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and supported by IFOAM – Organics International\, Dubai Municipality\, and other leading international organizations. The expo will be held in Dubai\, United Arab Emirates at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (link is external) from December 3-5\, 2019. \nTo register as a visitor (link is external) or learn more about the event\, please visit the website (link is external).  \nIn 2018\, keeping with the rapid growth of the region’s organic market\, this expo doubled in size\, welcoming 225 exhibitors from over 55 countries. With 13 country pavilions\, the United Kingdom\, China\, Poland\, and Iran all debuted at the expo and on the regional organic market. These figures represent a 22 percent increase from the 2017 expo\, which 7\,332 trade buyers and 276 VIP buyers from the Middle East\, Northern Africa\, and surrounding countries attended. \nThe 2018 expo also launched several new features\, including the: \n\n\nFirst Traditional Complementary Alternative Medicine Conference and Expo: never before held in the Middle East\, this event hosted 17 speakers and panelists and awarded medical attendees with 5 CME points. \n\n\nThe Organic Industry Conference: included 16 workshops and panel discussions on topics from the organic industry. \n\n\nO2O Connect\, the online-to-offline platform where exhibitors and trade buyers can pre-schedule meetings\, also fared well\, reporting that more than 2\,000 expo meetings were successfully scheduled prior to the event.

SUMMARY:West African Organic Conference
DESCRIPTION:Ghana will host the 5th West African Organic Conference (WAOC) in Accra from 12th-15th of November 2019. \nThe conference aims at bringing together stakeholders operating within the organic agriculture value chains to share knowledge\, experiences and ideas on how to grow the industry to benefit from its potentials. \nThe Conference is being organised by the Ecological Organic Agriculture Platform of Ghana (EOAP – G) and the West African Organic Network (WAfrONet) under the auspices of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA)\, the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) and Market Oriented Agriculture Programme (GIZ-MOAP) among other partners. \nIt is under the theme “Organic Agriculture – Life for All”. \nThe Conference is expected to be attended by more than 300 participants\, made up of policymakers\, organic farmers\, producers\, agro input entrepreneurs\, organic food processors and traders of certified organic commodities\, national\, regional and international organic agriculture organisations and associations and academia. \nPapers will be presented on Researches undertaken in Organic Agriculture\, Innovative Technologies\, Livestock\, Market & Business and Inputs and Policies. An Organic Trade Exhibition will also be held as part of the conference. \nDr. De Fenzy Schandorf\, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of WAOC and President of the Ecological Organic Agricultural Platform of Ghana (EOAP-G) said the objective of the conference is to showcase the potential of organic agriculture in the transformation of national and regional economies\, ecologies and livelihoods through income growth\, quality food production and sovereignty\, climate change adaptation and trade. \n“There are global concerns about the quality of agricultural produce and its impact on the health and wellbeing of consumers as well as the environment. The conference seeks to facilitate the sharing of knowledge\, information\, experiences and skills among stakeholders in the organic sector to impact the transformation of national and continental economies”\, Dr. Schandorf added. \nThe Chairman is inviting local and international agriculture industry players and entrepreneurs to participate in the conference and exhibition to benefit from the valuable platform that will be created to stimulate increased organic food production as well as national\, regional and international trade \nDr. Elke Stumpf\, Head of the Market Oriented Agriculture Programme (MOAP) one of the programs from the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) said GIZ is happy to partner with EOAP-G to organise the conference to create increased knowledge about organic agriculture and promote its cultivation as well as drive patronage.
